"Masterful grip: My tips for the ideal tennis racket strap"

In my long tennis career, I've learned that the devil is in the details - and the detail that really matters is the grip tape on the tennis racket. Here I share my personal insights and advice for a successful game

The art of the grip tape

A behind-the-scenes look at my success As a former tour player, I can say with certainty that the connection between the hitting hand and the tennis racket is not only crucial, but also extremely delicate. The grip plays a key role in this.

Let's start with the basics: the basic grip tape: this forms the basis of every racket and is equipped with a cushioning layer and an adhesive strip for a secure hold. Toalson, a manufacturer I trust, offers different thicknesses to suit individual preferences.

The magic of overgrip tapes: a touch of precision and comfort The overgrip tapes, on the other hand, take the quality of play to a new level. Toalson offers two special types: The "Ultra Grip" or "Neo Quick Grip" with a thickness of 0.5 mm for precise control and the "Power Grip" with a thickness of 0.7 mm for exceptional suction power and a comfortable feel.

The art of selection: Why quality counts! Choosing the right grip tape is a very personal decision. For me, quality is paramount - Toalson grip tapes impress with optimum grip, durability and absorbency, which reduces susceptibility to tennis elbow.

When is the time to change? It is a no-go if the grip tape can no longer be removed properly because it has stuck to the racket for too long. Look out for signs such as fraying, poor absorbency and a slipping racket - then it's high time for a change.

The color play of success: Why it's more than aesthetics! The choice of grip color has not only aesthetic but also functional aspects. Light colors absorb better, and the color can influence the feel of the grip tape. Use the coloring as an indicator for when to change.

Toalson: Trust in quality over decades - Toalson has proven itself as a reliable manufacturer over decades. The use of high-quality materials and the minimization of differences between colors are evidence of consistently high quality.

Conclusion: Investing in your own success -  Choosing the right grip tape is more than just a technical decision - it is an investment in your own success on the tennis court. Trust in quality, improve your grip and reduce your susceptibility to tennis elbow. I wish you lots of fun and a firm grip on the tennis court !
