Things to know when choosing your tennis racket:

1. Racket Length:

  • The standard length is 680 to 690 millimetres.
  • Longer models increase the reach, provide greater acceleration, but put more strain on the wrist.
  • Standard lengths are more flexible and are suitable for volleying and are also very good at defending balls.

2. Racket Head Size:

  • Larger heads are more forgiving, smaller heads accelerate better.
  • Average racket head area is 645 cm² (100 inches).
  • Midsize (< 625 cm²), Midplus (up to 675 cm²), Oversize (up to 755 cm²).

3. Racket Weight:

  • Heavy frames offer more swing power and precision.
  • Lightweight rackets make handling easier, especially for beginners.
  • Tournament rackets are approx. 300 - 340g, all-round rackets are 290 - 310g and comfort rackets between 260 and 290g.

4. Racket Grip:

  • Available in four grip strengths (L1 to L4).
  • The ideal grip size should provide a comfortable feel.
  • There should still be room for a little finger when the grip is held all the way down.

6. Balance Point:

  • Balanced, grip-heavy or top-heavy influences the playing style.
  • Professionals often prefer top-heavy clubs for better acceleration (320-330mm)
  • A balanced club head gives you tremendous control. ( 305-320mm)

7. String Pattren:

  • 16x19 for more spin, 18x20 for more control.
  • Wider spacing between strings gives more spin but increases string consumption.
  • Tighter patterns give tremendous precision and have a long string life, which should be changed as needed.

Each Toalson tennis racket combines specific features. Pay attention to the information on the frame heart and find the optimal blend for your game. Also take advice and rely on your instincts - because not every racket suits every player. Toalson has the perfect racket for you!
